Business Computing – A Blend of Business and IT Skills
Business computing is the application of various technologies to the requirements of business information. It is a hybrid of the fields of computer science. It may also include aspects of advanced computing. Graduates can go on to careers in the IT or business sector dealing with technical or computing issues.
The course is well-rooted in the workplace. Faculty members from the field of engineering and business partners share their insights on real-life business challenges. You will also have the chance to develop live briefs, which apply your technical skills to real-world issues. Over the course of four years you will gain a wide variety of IT and business capabilities. From creating software applications to analyzing data in order to provide new solutions to businesses.
During your first year, you’ll explore topics like marketing and accounting and gain hands-on with the latest IT and computing technologies. You’ll work on your IT and business skills in preparation for your year of placement, which can be on campus or at one of the many partner organizations throughout Kent and London. When you graduate, you’ll possess the unique combination of IT and business expertise that could lead you to a myriad of careers, such as web development, software development helpdesk support and data analytics. Former graduates have gone on to work for companies like Accenture, BP, FDM and Spotify.
