Even in the creation of this text, the neural network took an active part. But more on that later, because in the modern world neural networks are used in almost all areas of life. Today I will try to answer the question: can neural networks create a real movie? Do they know how to write scripts? Of course, I will not miss the opportunity to look at the examples of works created using neural networks.

The bottom line is that with the help of neural networks they were able to use a person’s voice without his permission, and to do this for commercial purposes.

Neural networks become better, smarter, endlessly and non -stop approaching the ideal. But you need to remember that the neural network cannot create anything new. She takes everything that is loaded in it, processes many times and gives out amazing results based on her past experience. This is what makes the neural network an amazing tool that helps when creating absolutely any content – be it an image, text or even a program code.

In fact, the neural networks have long been making films. Example – the film „Zone out“. Despite the fact that real living actors play here, everything that we see on the screen is at least strange. And dialogs are killed by their breathtaking.

An even more radical example is the film „out“. Sorry if I say the name incorrectly. This short film is completely shot using neural networks. It is creepy to watch it at times, not because artificial intelligence created something amazing, but because it sounds, how it looks because of the banality of what is happening.

Of course, we can say that these projects were created for a long time, at the dawn of the appearance of neural networks. You will be right. If you look at the trailers of new neurophilms, they are not very different from what happened several years ago. Yes, the quality of the picture has grown, animations have become more natural, like the appearance of the characters and the environment. But in each frame, the effect of the ominous valley is still felt, which appears due to the fact that the neural network follows certain patterns and it is almost impossible to go beyond their frames.

As I said earlier, the neural network can serve as an excellent tool for creating content, including music clips. Thanks to the activities of neural networks, we received the Lost video from Linkin Park. The song was supposed to enter their second album, but then it was laid aside. They correctly set the movement vector, carried out serious work and got a good result at the exit. If this were the only example, I would say that this is an exception that confirms the rule.

Another example is the screensaver for the Marvel series „Secret Invasion“. It is also created with the help of neural networks and it is strongly impossible to watch it. Not only because the quality of the series and the screensavers leave much to be desired, but also because those who were engaged in this series approached it after the sleeves. Disney even tried to trumped this somehow, but since the quality of the series and the screensavers leave much to be desired, Disney, to put it mildly, went over.

If you want to torment me, you can write in the comments and ask you to make a video about the „Secret Invasion“. But still I hope that there are no sadists among my spectators, and I will be able to avoid such evil rock. Of course, Disney was not the only corporation that wanted to use neural networks in its projects. I won’t talk about an endless amount of art with anime girls for different games of a dubious sense, but I will pay attention to the project from Netflix-anime short film “The Boy and the Dog”. Here the neural networks were used to create backs. This fact caused a violent reaction among the public. Many, like me, missed this moment, but activists on the Internet offered to boycott Netflix, unsubscribe from their service, as this approach takes work from artists. Yes, of course, this is so. But as in the joke about Vasily Ivanovich, there is one nuance.

Neural networks can be compared with the appearance of sound in the cinema. This tool that simplifies production and allows you to pay more attention to other aspects – it is better to work out the script, animation, unload creators from routine tasks. Neural networks are progress, it is the future that has already come. We will have to put up with this, we will have to live with it. But, despite all the incredible achievements, this is still a rude tool. It will take a lot of time for the neural networks to approach a person. And if we talk about something creative, then there is nothing to worry about at all. Therefore, I look forward to new projects created using neural networks. This is at least interesting. In addition, this year a whole film should be released, fully created using these technologies. Now I’m not talking about the „rebellious moon“ of Zach Snyder.
